CHARITABLE WORKS
FAMILY PROMISE
Starting December 1st, we will be partnering with Family Promise of Tualatin Valley to help serve families and/or seniors who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The mission is to help families achieve sustainable housing and independence through a community-based response. To this end, St. Anthony will temporarily house and support 1-2 families who are in the process of finding more permanent housing. During this time, Family Promise Executive Director and Case Manager will work with families to research or apply for benefits and resources; identify housing opportunities; conduct job searches; clear-up paperwork or financial issues; and move quickly to regain housing and independence.
St. Anthony will no longer host a Severe Weather Shelter for our homeless brothers and sisters. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not able to provide safe housing for our local homeless population. Thankfully, our neighbors at Calvin Presbyterian have agreed to take over in providing overnight housing for Tigard’s homeless population. With the basement of the church not being used for the Severe Weather Shelter, we have an exciting opportunity to continue serving the homeless in our community.
